Hold Me Closer, Necromancer by Lish McBride

Sam is going nowhere quickly. He has dropped out of college and is working at a fast food restaurant. One night, he’s playing potato hockey with Ramon and Brooke when they accidentally put a potato through a nearby car’s tail light. Things start going downhill quickly.

The owner of the car comes into the restaurant and reacts strangely to Sam. He wonders why Sam didn’t get approved by the Council. Sam has no idea what he is talking about, but the man leaves suddenly. When Sam gets out of work, there is someone waiting for them. It isn’t a good situation, and Sam, Ramon and Frank barely escape.

Unfortunately, Douglas Montgomery will not be put off so easily. He has a message for Sam, and that unpleasant message is delivered early the next morning.

This was an interesting book for me. I enjoyed it–the writing flows well and I enjoyed the plot. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys paranormal books, but also to people who like books with a bit more of a realistic touch to them. Great read.
