Ruby was one of the few children to survive. When the first of her classmates died, she was shocked. Soon, half her class was gone. On her 10th birthday, her parents have her sent to Thurmond, a ‘rehabilitation’ camp, one of many places for children with special abilities. When she is classified, she is able to trick the doctor into putting her in the Green group. As a Green, she has fewer freak abilities and is able to move more freely around camp.
Six years later, the PSFs who are in charge of the camp are on the verge of realizing the truth. She is really an Orange, one of the most dangerous groups. Most of the Orange children are long gone, and there are people who want to use her abilities. It is one of those groups helps her escape. But, does she want to help them?
Soon, she is on the run, looking for the only place where she may be safe. Will it be everything she has heard? Or, will it be just another place where someone wants to take advantage of her abilities?
This was a great book. I loved the different twists on the popular dystopian fiction genre. If you have enjoyed other dystopian novels, I highly recommend this one!
