The Right and the Real

Jamie is seventeen years old, and is about to attend her father’s wedding. She knows that she needs to stop the wedding, but can’t think of a way to do so. They are at the Right & the Real Church, and the wedding is part of Ceremony night, when 23 couples are getting married. Before the wedding begins, her dad must take the Pledge. He does, and then the Teacher turns to Jamie telling her it is her turn. When she refuses, the Teacher kicks her out of the church, and ultimately out of her father’s house.

At seventeen, Jamie is alone, and is scared to tell anyone she has been kicked out. Luckily, she has some savings and the car her grandfather left her. She doesn’t have many options, but she knows she must finish high school, which would not be an option if she took the Pledge.  She doesn’t know how she is going to get to graduation, much less to school in New York City next year. She is determined to save her dad from the church, but she is not allowed to talk to her father, or to her boyfriend, Josh who is also part of the Right & the Real.

I have been lucky enough to read many very good books in the last month. The Right & the Real is one of the better ones. I couldn’t put it down! Come check it out today!
